How to backup & restore BMW FEM codes with Xhorse VVDI2 programmer? Sometimes, you preprogram a FEM spare key and it accidentally loses the coding to the vehicle. As a precaution, you should always backup the coding.
Following I’m gonna show the operating procedure.
I’m working on a BMW 1 series FEM vehicle.
Start VVDI2 BMW software after connecting to OBD, hit
BMW >> Key learn >> FEM/BDC key learn >> Get key info
There are 2 keys: key position1 & key position 2
Hit “Backup Coding”.
After reading coding complete, it will give me a file to save.
In the file, I can find all of the different addresses with different coding.
So now if I lost my coding, hit “Restore coding”.
It’ll ask to select the file which I’ve done.
And then It starts writing the coding on…
Do you want to verify the coding? Yes
Verified success.
So in case you lost your coding and you’ve backed up the coding. This is how to use VVDI2 FEM to restore it.
