2018 Golf 7 Add Smart key with VVDI2: succeed

New user test report:

Car model and year:

12/2018 Golf 7 with JOHNSON CONTROLS succeed

11/2018 Golf with a VDO NEC35XX succeed

VW key programmers to use:

Xhorse VVDI2 VAG

VAG OBD Helper

Purpose:

add a spare key mqb

the system is Smart key

The first time trial: Failure

Xhorse VVDI2 recognizes that car has Johnson Controls dash but can’t retrieve data. I put Vag OBD Helper cable on and did online calculation.

I put the immo data from Vag Helper into VVDI2 but that’s as far as it goes.

Am I able to add a spare key ??

It worked finally:

step 1 : read car with OBD Helper
Step 2: precode key with VVDI2
Step 3 : learn all keys to car.

I was able to add a key to a 12/2018 Golf 7 with JOHNSON CONTROLS as well as a 11/2018 Golf with a VDO NEC35XX. Both cars would not identify with the VVDI2 but I was able to make it happen with the vag helper cable.
