I tested the Xhorse VVDI Key Tool MIDI Advanced and Xtool X100 Pad 1 on a Mahindra BS6 vehicle to read the ECM and IMMO PINs. The Xhorse MIDI Advance retrieved the IMMO PIN in around 18–19 minutes, while the Xtool X100 Pad 1 took about 50 minutes and 17 seconds to read the ECM PIN.
Test Results
- Xtool X100 Pad 1 – ECM PIN: 50 minutes and 17 seconds.
- Xhorse MIDI Advance – IMMO PIN: Around 18–19 minutes.
- Both PINs were retrieved successfully. The full test took around 1.5 hours.
For the Xhorse IMMO test, I selected Asia → Mahindra → BS6 → Read Password → Read Immo Pin and followed the on-screen prompts.
What Stood Out
The Xhorse MIDI Advance took around 18–19 minutes to read the IMMO PIN. That’s the result I found most interesting in this test. The Xtool X100 Pad 1 took longer to read the ECM PIN, but these are different functions, so comparing the times directly wouldn’t be fair.
Would I Use the Xhorse MIDI Advance Again?
I’d lean toward the Xhorse MIDI Advance for the IMMO PIN-reading job shown here. The process worked, and I have a recorded time to go by. This isn’t proof that Xhorse is better than Xtool overall, but based on this particular test, I’d be more inclined to use the Xhorse for this task.
