How to Add 2020 Skoda Kodiaq MQB Key with Xhorse Multi Prog and VVDI2?

Today we’re working on a 2020 Skoda Kodiaq. The car arrived with one key. The task is to make an additional key and a chip for remote start.

Keys in Skoda cars are overwhelmingly stored in the dashboard. Therefore, to make a key, we need to retrieve data from the dashboard. At the time of writing, all Skoda Kodiaq cars use the MQB platform and typically a read-protected Renesas RH850 processor, which is the main difficulty.
The process of preparing for reading and the data reading itself is quite painstaking. You need to completely disassemble the dashboard, remove eight components, solder them to the board on both sides, and then read the data. Then everything needs to be reassembled in reverse order. It seems that this is all there is to it, but it’s not. Because… The data is read in encrypted form, it must be decrypted and only after that we will receive the data necessary for recording the key (CS component, immo id, pin, etc.).

Here’s the procedure:
1. Remove the dashboard.
2. Read the cluster data with xhorse multi prog and RH850 adapter.
3. Prepare the dealer key with vvdi2.
4. Program all keys in the car with vvdi2.
5. Install the dashboard.

Working time: 3 hours.
